Ben's First Day of Preschool

It's another first in the Udstuen household. Benjamin started preschool today. He was incredibly excited. After a lunch outing with Mom and Dad (during which the conversation revolved singularily around Bob the Builder) we walked down the street, and dropped him off without tears (Ben, Mom, or Dad). When I came back to pick him up at 3 p.m. he was sitting in a circle with his teacher and classmates. When he saw me out of the corner of his eye he shouted, "MOM I LOVE my school!!!" And then turned back to what the class was doing. Safe to say the day was a success.

This is the face of a three year old who tried to hold Carrot the cat for his First Day of School Picture. Carrot (named by Ben) gave him an incredibly light warning scratch. But Ben's ego is bruised.

Happier here!

The First "First Day of School"!

Jonah's first day of kindergarten was great! He came home pretty excited, but not very interested in talking about school. The only information we were able to pry from him was that his favorite class was P.E. with Mrs. Konz. The P.E. teacher is a Mr. Konz...we'll work on gender identity next week!

Meeting Mom at school

Racing home after the school bus dropped him off.

He thought he really needed to sit in the massage chair after his LONG day! He even opted for this over the sugar cookies that Ben and I had ready for snack.

Ben was happy to help out.

Mark came home early to greet Jonah when he got off the bus. We had a long afternoon ahead of us, so we asked Jonah what he wanted to do. He asked for a family bike ride - so we headed to Houston for quick ride and a picnic! Very fun! But both boys were more than ready for bed when the time came!
